“It seems impossible to capture in a few words the essence of the Make-A-Wish Foundation^® and the privilege entrusted to me as the President of this incredible organization. More than 16 years ago, I thought the opportunity to work for the Foundation was simply a wonderful new job. I had no idea how the organization and people involved would change my life…forever.

Throughout the counties we serve, across America and around the world - the Make-A-Wish Foundation is a catalyst for good. The simplicity of its mission unifies vast numbers of people all playing an individual role in making wishes come true. The life-affirming function of a wish provides hope, strength and joy not just to wish children and families but to volunteers, donors, staff and the broader community.

Every single day I am humbled by the wish families and wish kids who face the greatest challenges of life - survival - with optimism, courage, strength and unshakable positive energy. To be invited to share in this personal journey carries great reponsibility for everyone involved. It is accompanied by tremendous joy and unbelievable heartache.

The true essence of this organization is found in the quality of people involved in the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central New York.
