The charity bib program is agreat way for runners to get in the race and add meaning to their miles. The program also adds to the race’s elite status by making it the first 15K in the country to include a charity running partner program.
“We are so honored that Make-A-Wish has been chosen for a second year in a row as a charity partner with such a well know and sought after 15K road race. In addition, we know many people signed up for the race last year before the charity partner option was announced, who would have run for a charity. I am certain several of last year’s runner will join Make-A-Wish again this year, because it was so rewarding to run the race and to raise money that is used to grant magical wishes,” said Diane Kuppermann, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish Central New York.
As part of its partnership, Make-A-Wish Central New York is again funding a $1,000 scholarship to be awarded to one Utica area high school senior or recent graduate who has demonstrated a commitment to serving the community.
