Syracuse, NY – Make-A-Wish® Central New York is pleased to announce that the Utica College (UC) hockey team, along with its fans, pledged to a season of giving that culminates in a fun-filled evening on February 8, 2013, sponsored by Dunkin’ Donuts. The first 200 fans that come through the doors will be given a Make-A-Wish wrist band or star.
Last week 28 fans, who purchased tickets all season long, joined the players at a dinner sponsored by Valentino’s Banquet Hall. This week’s Hockey game celebrates its fans with an evening filled with fun surprises.
Last year Wish Kid Will was surprised when he was told that his wish for a backyard Hockey Rink had been granted. This year, 4 year old Wish Kid Will returns, and as a new skater will take to the ice. At Intermission Diane Kuppermann, President and CEO of Make-A-Wish Central New York, will introduce Will, thank the community and sponsors and announce the Wish Kid Puck Drop.
“We are so excited for our Wish Kid Will as his love for Hockey is far beyond his age and we are so thankful to Coach Heenan, UC Hockey Team, Dunkin’ Donuts and Valentino’s Banquet Hall for their continued support of the Make-A-Wish”, noted Diane Kuppermann. The money raised from the play/fan raffle will be used to benefit Make-A-Wish Central New York in its efforts to grant wishes for children with life-threatening diseases.
