Syracuse, N.Y. -- Carrier® Corp.’s Syracuse campus continues to join Make-A-Wish® Central New York in helping to make wishes come true. Carrier adopted a wish and shared in the joy when they met Wish Kid Ethan, a 12 year-old boy whose wish was to meet his favorite Disney® character, Captain Hook. The Carrier team was able to meet with Wish Kid Ethan and his family after the wish, and he spoke of the time he swam with the dolphins, enjoyed ice-cream, and met his favorite, Captain Hook at the Pirate Parade. Ethan and his family recently completed a four-day Disney cruise, and his mom’s note of appreciation said, “being together as a family was the best gift of all and this was the best place to do that... Thank you just does not seem to be enough”.
Carrier® has a 20-year history in helping to make wishes come true. In fact, Carrier was the first company in the community to become an “Adopt-A-Wish® Sponsor” when the elite giving level was established in 1993. This year they continued that legacy by adopting another wish. “We are so grateful for the support of Carrier and all their employees, they are true community stewards and understand the magic of a wish and the hope, strength and joy that it brings,” said Diane Kuppermann, Make-A-Wish Central New York, President and CEO.
Colleen Julian, manager, Marketing, Carrier Commercial Service, and Joe Chirco, manager, Marketing Operations, Carrier Commercial Systems serve as governing board members to the local chapter. This year, Make-A-Wish Central New York will achieve its 1500th wish, and the organization’s goal is to grant the wish of every eligible child. To further support the organization, a local Carrier volunteer group, “WE CARE,” is raising funds to support another wish. The Carrier WE CARE group is led by Cheryl Beebe, accounting analyst and includes team members Shelly Gillispie, accounting analyst, Marty Dillabough, senior accounting analyst and Amanda Kurak, accounting analyst.
