Make-A-Wish® of Central New York is pleased to announce that starting in January, fifty Dunkin’ Donuts franchises in the Central New York area began a partnership with Make-A-Wish of Central New York in an effort to bring donations to the non-profit organization. Dunkin’ Donuts shops within the fifteen counties is featuring donation boxes benefiting the Make-A-Wish foundation in its efforts to grant wishes for children with life-threatening diseases.
Franchise owners Roy Clark, Ed Wolack, and Tom Santurri recently raised funds for the American Red Cross using these same donation boxes. Every donation Dunkin’ Donuts customers make will go towards granting wishes for the children who are a part of Make-A-Wish Foundation in these fifteen counties. The average cost for the organization to grant a wish has risen to $9,000.
Incorporated in 1985, the Make-A-Wish of Central New York, Inc. is a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization dedicated to granting special wishes to children between the ages of 2-1/2 and 18 who are living with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. Make-A-Wish has granted over 1300 Wishes since its inception. In granting a favorite wish, the Foundation strives to provide the wish child and family with extra-special memories of joy and laughter. A wish offers a welcome respite - a time for nothing, but fun!
Make-A-Wish continues to “bring the magic of a wish” to special central New York kids because of the generous support of the central New York Community both individuals and corporations throughout the fifteen county region it serves. The counties being served are: Broome, Cayuga, Chenango, Cortland, Herkimer, Jefferson, Lewis, Madison, Oneida, Onondaga, Oswego, Otsego, St. Lawrence, Tioga and Tompkins.
