SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Make-A-Wish Central New York announced today that they have teamed up with Dunkin’ Donuts® and AAA Western and Central New York to promote the Foundation’s Wishes in FlightSM program throughout the 15 counties served.
Wishes in Flight is Make-A-Wish’s airline miles donation program. Air mile donations are essential in getting wish kids to their wish destinations and giving through Wishes in Flight is easy – and the miles never expire once they’re in the Foundation’s account! Nearly 70 percent of the wishes granted nationwide by Make-A-Wish last year included air travel for families to reach their wish destinations. The Foundation estimates that 2.5 billion donated airline miles are needed to provide wish travel for wish kids and their families each year. Make-A-Wish Central New York will grant 80 wishes this year, most requiring travel.
This spring, Dunkin’ Donuts and AAA are partnering with Make-A-Wish Central New York to promote the Wishes in Flight program. For every 25,000 miles donated, up to 1 million miles, Dunkin’ Donuts will give donors a $25 gift card; AAA is promoting the program in its Member Connection magazine which will reach 200,000 members.
