Maggie has always loved the Disney princesses and her Little Mermaid under the sea bed. Her dream to go to Disney World came true. Maggie’s favorite part of Walt Disney World Resort was the ride “It’s A Small World.” While staying at Give Kids the World Resort, Maggie got to be a contestant on Village Idol. She got on stage and danced. What a brave girl! Some of her favorite Disney characters came to the village to see her including Ariel and Belle. “It was the best trip of my life!” she said.

Dunkin’ Donuts Launches 1st Make-A-Wish Central New York Star Donut to Help Make Wishes Come True!

From Monday, April 22 through Monday, April 29, customers who contribute $1 to Make-A-Wish^® at 120 participating Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in Central New York will receive a Make-A-Wish Star Donut. All proceeds will benefit Make-A-Wish Central New York.

“Dunkin’ Donuts is honored to support Make-A-Wish^® Central New York, which works tirelessly to help make the wishes of local children come true,” said Eric Stensland, field marketing manager for Dunkin’ Donuts. “I encourage Central New York residents to enjoy a special treat while supporting an organization that is so important to our community.”

The star-shaped specialty donut is topped with blue and white icing in honor of Make-A-Wish Central New York and will be available at participating Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in Central New York through April 29, World Wish Day!

April - I wish to meet…my favorite baseball team!

Wish Kid Frankie loves baseball – so much that he wished to meet his favorite team! He arrived at the stadium extremely happy and cheered his team to victory! Frankie had the chance to meet several of his baseball icons and he and his dad even got to go into the dugout with all the players. The players gave them gum and chatted about what Frankie loves most about the game. It was a day Frankie will remember forever.

Boilermaker/Make-A-Wish Charity Partner

Make-A-Wish^®Central New York is pleased to announce that they have been chosen as an Inaugural Charity Partner for the Boilermaker Road Race and will offer 50 runners another chance to participate in the 2013 Boilermaker Road Race as part of the race’s inaugural charity bib program.

Runners must commit to raising a minimum of $500 in support of Make-A-Wish Central New York to claim one of the 50 bibs available and add meaning to their miles. Bibs may be used for either the 15K or 5K race.

This year’s 15K Boilermaker Road Race, which takes place in Utica, NY on July 14, 2013, sold out in record time, reaching its 14,000 capacity in just three days. The charity bib program is a great way for locked out runners to get back in the race and participate in this year’s sold out race. The program also adds to the race’s elite status by making it the first 15K in the country to add a charity running partner program.

Registration opens on Monday March 18 at noon.

March - I wish to meet…‘my back up boys’!

Shane’s wish was to visit the Gonzales Police Department in Gonzales, California. The police officers from Gonzales read about Shane’s life and medical struggle in an online news article and they wanted to help. They decided to donate to his disease and wanted to help make Shane’s life better so contacted Shane’s family and began communicating with him. When Shane was asked what his wish would be, he said he wanted to meet his “back up boys” as he calls them, who had been emailing with him and sending him gifts on holidays and birthdays for some time. While visiting the Gonzales Police Department, Shane was made an honorary police officer for the day… an experience he will never forget! Receiving a badge and getting to ride in a police car made Shane’s trip extraordinary. He even received his own uniform, which he wears often!

February - I wish to have a princess bedroom

Her royal highness, K’nai wished to have a perfect princess makeover for the bedroom she shares with her sister. With the help of local interior designer, Roseann Smith, K’nai’s room was transformed into a pink palace, complete with a hand-painted castle mural, a chandelier, and beautiful bedding. The big surprise reveal for the bedroom makeover included a party with her family, friends and volunteers. Now K’nai can feel like a princess everyday with her new collection of dress up attire and her princess bedroom fit for royalty.
