Internship - Volunteer Services (Non-Paid)- 1 opening
This individual will assist with the Program Services Department in the recruiting, training and utilization of volunteers. This intern will also work with staff and volunteers on wish-related issues and events and assist with volunteer appreciation, Human Resources, and other administrative duties as assigned. The position will be reevaluated on a six month cycle based on the following factors: chapter fiscal considerations, volume of campaigns, present staff needs, and effectiveness of position in that cycle.
Qualifying Skills: complete ease and comfort dealing with individuals and businesses over the phone, self starter, good organizational skills, computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, etc.) required, detail oriented, excellent customer service skills, two years of college completed in social work, psychology, human resources, Internet research skills, ability to handle multiple tasks. 16 hours/wk required.

Internship – PR, Branding & Communications (Non-Paid)-2 openings
This intern will assist the PR, Branding & Communications team with social networking to spread the Make-A-Wish® mission over the internet. The position will also be responsible for creating content for the quarterly volunteer newsletter, writing press releases and pitching articles over the phone and via email. Interns will also work on projects requiring the creation of flyers, forms, and event print materials. This individual may help shoot, edit and post videos to sites such as YouTube and work with us to increase our presence in other forms of social media.
Qualifying Skills: Working knowledge of a wide array of social media, including but not limited to, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, blogs, Hootsuite; excellent writing and communication abilities; good organizational skills; computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, HTML, Adobe Suite; Photoshop and Indesign, etc…); experience with videotaping and video editing software, a plus; ability to multi-task a must. College course work related to communications required. 14-20 hours/wk required.

Internship- Program Development(Non-Paid) – 2 openings
The Program Development Intern will assist the Director of Development with fundraising support, general administrative tasks, database updating and maintenance, and assist in event development when needed, and contact event sponsors Other various tasks will be assigned according to the needs of the Foundation.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel etc), excellent communication skills with an outgoing personality, self motivated, and able to handle multiple tasks. Candidate must be a college student with coursework relating to business administration and fundraising. 10-15 hours/wk required.

Internship - Special Events (Non-Paid)- 2 opening
The Special Events Intern supports the Foundation’s major special events. The primary responsibilities include assisting with marketing of events, facilitating the donation of auction items, and journal ads. The Special Events Intern will also provide assistance and office support to Development team, and interact with donors and vendors relating to the events.
Qualifying Skills: Complete ease and comfort in speaking with donors, excellent written and oral communication skills, good organizational skills, detail oriented, ability to handle multiple tasks. Proficiency in Excel. 12-20 hours/wk required.

Internship- Accounting and Finance (Non-Paid) - 1 opening
The Accounting and Budgeting Intern will assist the Director of Finance and Administration with the various financial aspects. This will include billing, account management, financial organization associated with wish-granting, and various other assignments as needed by the Director.
Qualifying Skills: Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel, knowledge of basic accounting skills (AP, AR, and GL) good organizational skills, self motivated, and a strong ability to handle multiple tasks. Applicant must be a junior/ senior or graduate student with completed coursework in accounting and finance. 16-20hr/ week required.
