Director of Philanthropy

Make-A-Wish Central New York seeks a seasoned development professional with a minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience and proven track record in individual, major and planned gifts to lead the Foundation’s development efforts.

This position is responsible for increasing the chapter’s revenues by achieving annually defined fundraising goals through the identification, cultivation and execution of solicitation strategies for all major, planned, and foundation gifts.

Qualified applicants will have the ability to set strategic direction and lead the Foundation’s development department, manage multiple tasks effectively and demonstrate the ability to work with diverse groups of people, manage stressful situations, and make sound decisions in a quick timeframe. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.  Proficiency with Raiser’s Edge, Sales Force or other donor management database is required along with some travel.

Candidates must have a minimum of five years in fund development. Supervisory, training and mentoring experience is preferred. BA/BS is required. CFRE and/or CAP a plus.   The position is posted on our website www.cny.wish.org

Manager of Volunteers & Medical Outreach

Make-A-Wish Central New York seeks a Manager of Volunteers & Medical Outreach.

This position is responsible for recruiting, training and managing volunteers and interns, and ensuring the chapter’s volunteer base is strong throughout our 15-county service region. Additionally, the position is responsible for the effective management of our wish child referral process, including wish child referral intake, medical form processing, and related data entry. The qualified candidate will clearly communicate medical eligibility criteria to medical professionals and foster a consistent understanding that results in our reaching every eligible child throughout our chapter territory.

Qualified applicants will have the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and demonstrate the ability to work with diverse groups of people, manage stressful situations, and make sound decisions in a quick timeframe. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, and experience with Raiser’s Edge database is preferred. Some travel required.

Candidates must have a minimum of two years mid-level management experience; supervisory, training and mentoring experience is preferred. BA/BS or equivalent work experience is required.
