Making Wishes Come True at 14th Annual
Nelcorp Make-A-Wish® Open
Binghamton, N.Y. – April 4, 2012 - Make-A-Wish® Central New York invites the public to take part in the 14th annual Nelcorp Make-A-Wish® Open in honor of Sean Shumaker, an amazing wish kid who will forever be missed, and the Shumaker and Dahm families.
This year’s event will take place on Monday, June 11, 2012 at Traditions at the Glen in Johnson City, N.Y. For over a decade, golfers have come together at this competitive golf tournament to help make wishes come true for children throughout Central New York.
Tournament registration will begin at 11 a.m., followed by a 12 p.m. shotgun start. The day’s schedule includes lunch, course contests, raffles and prizes. The event will conclude with a cocktail reception and awards dinner, featuring a tribute to a very special wish child and family. Anyone looking to register in advance for the Make-A-Wish® Open should call Make-A-Wish® Central New York at (315) 475-9474.
“No matter how much fun we have on the course throughout the day, the highlight of the tournament is always hearing one of our terrific wish kids speak about their personal Make-A-Wish experience,” said Diane Kuppermann, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish® Central New York. “What a wonderful reminder of why we all share the power of a wish!”
